My 2019 Tucson is coming up on its 60,000 km service and I’m starting to shop around for quotes because honestly the dealership prices have gotten absolutely ridiculous for what’s basically just routine maintenance like oil, filters, and a bunch of inspections that they charge a premium for. I love my Hyundai and it’s been super reliable so far, but I just can’t justify paying those dealer rates anymore when I know there have to be more affordable options out there that still do quality work. A few of my coworkers who drive similar cars mentioned that there’s an affordable Hyundai repair center in Musaffah Abu Dhabi that they’ve been using for years and they’ve never had any complaints about the quality of work or the prices. I’m not looking for the absolute cheapest option because I know you get what you pay for, but I also don’t want to keep getting fleeced by the dealership for simple services that any competent mechanic should be able to handle. What I really care about is that they use genuine Hyundai parts, follow the proper service intervals, and actually know what they’re doing with these Theta engines because I’ve heard some horror stories about oil burning issues if the wrong oil is used. If anyone here has experience with a good independent shop for their Hyundai in that area, I’d really appreciate some recommendations before I decide where to take my car for this upcoming service.
